REQUIREMENTS FOR TIN REGISTRATION – If you have mixed income, here is a guide in registering for a Tax Identification Number.

Filipinos are mandated by law to pay taxes depending on the income. The said amounts are paid to the Bureau of Internal Revenue. The tax-collecting body is more popularly called BIR and it is one of the biggest government agencies in the country.

The taxes set by the BIR depends on the income of an individual as well as the source of income. When registering for the payment of taxes, you will have to apply for a Tax Identification Number or more popularly called TIN. It will get you the TIN ID which you can use in many purposes as well.

In registering for the payment of taxes, as mentioned earlier, there are different categories. There are also different requirements for TIN registration.

There are TIN application requirements this 2023 for employed individuals are different from those who have mixed income. If you have multiple sources of income, you must prepare the following documentary requirements for TIN registration to BIR:

  • duly-accomplished BIR Form No. 1901 version 2018
  • any identification document issued by a government body that shows name, address, and birthdate of the applicant
  • Payment of P500.00 for Registration Fee and P30.00 for loose DST or Proof of Payment of Annual Registration Fee (ARF) (if with existing TIN or applicable after TIN issuance)
  • BIR Printed Receipts/Invoices or Final & clear sample of Principal Receipts/ Invoices

Aside from the aforementioned mandatory requirements for TIN registration for mixed income individuals, there are other additional documents that may be asked from you. Here is a list of the possible addition requirements:

  • Special Power of Attorney (SPA) and ID of authorized person, in case of authorized representative who will transact with the Bureau;
  • DTI Certificate (if with business name);
  • Franchise Documents (e.g. Certificate of Public Convenience) (for Common Carrier);
  • Photocopy of the Trust Agreement (for Trusts);
  • Photocopy of the Death Certificate of the deceased (for Estate under judicial settlement);
  • Certificate of Authority, if Barangay Micro Business Enterprises (BMBE) registered entity;
  • Proof of Registration/Permit to Operate BOI/BOI-ARMM, PEZA, BCDA and SBMA
