Have you heard about the Multi-Purpose Loan Flex offer of the Government Service Insurance System? It may not be as popular as many other loan offers of the social insurance entity but it may be perfect for your cash needs.
The Government Service Insurance System is one of the biggest social insurance entities in the Philippines. More popularly called GSIS, it has several branches across the nation as well as millions of members.
A GSIS membership is mandated among the employees of the government. Thus, the member populace of the Government Service Insurance System is composed of former government employees and current employees of the government.
Aside from the GSIS benefits, the social insurance entity also offers loans which now includes the Multi-Purpose Loan Flex or the MPL Flex. It is designed to help the qualified members meet their financial needs.
Under it, a member may be allowed to borrow up to P5 million. The borrowed amount may be repaid for up to 15 years,
To apply for the loan offer, a member must prepare and submit the GSIS MPL Flex requirements for application. Here are the documents required by the state entity:
- duly accomplished MPL Flex Application Form
- photocopy of the Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) card or Electronic Card (eCard)
If your GSIS MPL Flex requirements are ready, you may submit them to a branch of the Government Service Insurance System. You may also apply for the loan offer either through the GSIS online platform or the GWAPS Kiosk.

- Login to your eGSISMO account (BP number and PW)
- Click Loans Application icon and choose (Multi-purpose Loan), Loan Type (New or Renewal).
- Upload a Picture of Member holding UMID / Temporary CARD or 2 Valid Government IDs if UMID / Temporary CARD is lost (as JPEG or PDF File)
- Confirm Loan Agreement and click SAVE
- Await email confirmation from GSIS for tentative loan computation
via GWAPS Kiosk
- Visit a GWAPS Kiosk nearest to you.
- Place your eCard Plus/UMID in the G-W@PS kiosk card reader. Once the card reader has recognized your thumbmark, personal data will be displayed.
- Pick the Loan Windows icon and click on Multipurpose Loan. The screen will display the tentative computation of your preferred loan. You may change the loan amount and/or payment term.
- Place your selected finger on the biometrics scanner to confirm your loan application.
- Wait for the GSIS email or SMS regarding the result of your loan application.
