The costs of oil are among those that affect a lot of people. These individuals who are affected include the public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and private vehicle owners who go on a gas pump. In the Philippines, the changes or hike and rollbacks on oil prices are usually announced on a Monday and implemented the following day.
This 2022, the world is faced with a global crisis on oil and many countries including PH experienced high costs of oil products. It was believed to have been triggered by the Russia and Ukraine war being one of the factors. Several oil reserves were released in the pursuit to cope with the global demands on oil.
In PH, some PUV drivers were given fuel vouchers amid the high oil prices which went for several weeks. Meanwhile, the costs of diesel, gasoline, and kerosene have dropped following several rollbacks.
