Business Group MAP Speaks on PH Economy Amid Delta Threat
BUSINESS GROUP – The Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) is hoping that the Philippine economy won’t be shut down again.
The two (2) fields greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the different countries are the healthcare system and the economy. Truths be told that certain measures in the pursuit to curb the spread of the disease greatly affects the running of business in a country.
In the Philippines, community quarantine measures are still up as the country continues to fight the spread of coronavirus. Most parts of the country is currently under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) which is the least strict among the four (4) quarantine measures.
Some areas that recorded high cases of COVID-19 are under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) now, the strictest among the four (4) quarantine measures. In these areas, businesses are operating on a limited capacity and not all businesses are allowed to operate.
Unfortunately, amid the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 pandemic which started last year, a new variant of the disease is causing alarm – the Delta variant. It was first recorded in India and the country greatly suffered from its reported fast transmissibility.
Several other countries recorded cases of the Delta variant. In fact, Indonesia is facing another spike in the COVID-19 cases now. In the Philippines, it was also confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) that a local transmission took place.
Amid the threats of the Delta variant of COVID-19, business group Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) is hoping that the PH economy won’t be shut down again. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, MAP is trusting the health authorities to take measures to prevent the spread of the said variant of coronavirus.
