Countries across the globe now are exerting their maximum efforts to fight the spread of COVID-19. The actions include vaccinations against coronavirus to achieve herd immunity or population protection. There are several vaccines developed by different manufacturers.
Among the vaccines that are currently used by the different nations are Sinovac, Sinopharm, Moderna, Pfizer, Sputnik V, Janssen, and AstraZeneca. Some rich countries donated vaccines to the poorer nations to help them get to population protection.
Most of the vaccines are double-dose or given twice while Janssen funded by Johnson & Johnson is a single-dose vaccine. Each brand got temperature requirements thus transport is not very easy.
Some countries like the Philippines have to borrow money to procure more COVID-19 vaccines. The COVID-19 vaccine price of one brand may differ from the other.
However, sadly, amid the COVID-19 pandemic intensifying now due to the mutation of the virus, the COVID-19 vaccine price for Pfizer might increase. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the same thing might happen to the price of Moderna.

WHO urge the manufacturers of the vaccines to keep the prices low. WHO assistant director general for access to medicines, vaccines and pharmaceuticals Mariangela Simao stressed the importance of having “companies state policies of affordable prices”.
The official further expressed that both the manufacturers of Moderna and Pfizer have boost their manufacturing capacities which should lead to a “decreased price not an increasing price”. She stressed that the demand is very high compared to the production.
The manufacturers of Moderna and Pfizer have yet to speak on it. More updates may be posted soon.
