Update on PLDT Income during First 3 Quarters of 2021
PLDT INCOME – The telecommunication company revealed its income from January to September this year 2021 amid the pandemic.
A lot of changes were brought by the COVID-19 pandemic to every country it has affected. One of the nations that are still in the midst of a tough battle against the pandemic is the Philippines. In fact, the whole country remains under community quarantine measures now.
Amid the pandemic, many workers now are under a work-from-home setup. Most students are also under blended learning as face-to-face classes are not allowed still for more than a year now. The lessons of the students are delivered through modules and online classes.
While many businesses failed to cope with the demands of the pandemic and had to temporarily or permanently close, there are also those who manage to stay afloat and those who meet more than their expectations considering the situation now.
One of the businesses whose income rose amid the pandemic is PLDT Corp. Truth be told that many people need internet connectivity as they study or work at home.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the PLDT income from January to September this year is up by 10% to P23.1 billion. The telco firm puts the partial credit of the increase to lower tax rates.
According to PLDT, their consolidated service revenues from January to September increased by 7% to P135.9 billion. Out of the said total, P46 billion is from the third quarter.
PLDT and Smart President and CEO Alfredo Panlilio said that their vision is to “empower all Filipinos in building a stronger nation” by securing a sustainable future through excellent connectivity. They aspire to deliver “more and better”.
According to the telco firm, the growth of their fiber-to-the-home business offer had a “record-breaking” growth from July to September with its service revenue reaching P9 billion. It is 83% higher compared to last year’s growth.
