Update on DITO Telecommunity Total Revenues Since Launching in March
DITO TELECOMMUNITY – The telecommunication provider revealed its revenues nine (9) months after its launching in the Philippines.
This 2021, another telecommunication provider started operating in the Philippines – DITO. The said telco provider is a joint business venture of businessman Dennis Uy and China Telecom. It initially started its services in Davao and Cebu and then started spreading it in several other areas across the nation.
Many Filipinos switched to DITO. Undeniably, internet providers are among the biggest companies in the countries now as they provide one of the common needs of people not only for communication purposes but as well as for other personal and business needs.
DITO Telecommunity grew fast. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, it now offers services to more than 500 areas across the nation.
DITO Telecommunity also reached multi-billion revenues since its launching in March. According to the report, the telco provider posted P2 billion in revenues nine (9) months since its launching.
Adel Tamano, the chief administrative officer of DITO, revealed that the telco provider has also built over 4,100 towers and more than 22,000 kilometers of fiber optic cables. He stressed that the towers constructed are more than enough to cater to the over five (5) million subscribers of the telco company across the nation.
With regards to its downtime amid the onslaught of Typhoon Odette, the telco provider expressed that despite the “inevitable” scenario amid the typhoon, their disaster teams worked right away to fix the problem. DITO Chief Technology Officer Retired Major General Santiago said that the “disaster resilience of the DITO network was built” into their rollout plans.
Furthermore, Santiago expressed that the telco provider will be giving 1,000 preloaded SIM cards to the first responders in the areas affected by Typhoon Odette. It is in line with its pursuit to help in the government’s recovery missions.
