Guide on CHED Scholarship Courses Related to Teacher Education

Do you want to be a teacher someday but you are not financially ready to pursue college? There are entities that you can turn to for assistance and one of them is the Commission on Higher Education, popularly called CHED.
CHED is one of the many private and public institutions that offer scholarship programs to deserving students. There are several courses that this scholarship offer covers and among these courses are those related in Social Sciences.
For CHED scholars who want to take a Social Science course, here are the courses that you can choose from:
Teacher Education
- Secondary Education major in Science and Mathematics
- Culture and Arts
- Early Childhood Education
- Special Needs Education
- Sports and Exercise Science
There are also several courses covered by the CHED scholarship in other fields such as Engineering and Technology, Information and Technology (IT), Science and Mathematics, Architecture and Related Programs, Business and Management, Maritime Education, Health Profession Education, Social Science, and Multi and Interdisiplinary Cluster.
Prior to applying for the scholarship offer, you may check on the CHED scholarship stipends or allowance for scholars under the program.
CHED has crafted a set of eligibility criteria in the application for the scholarship offer. For aspiring scholars, you must be:
- a Filipino citizen
- Graduating high school student or high school graduate with a general average General Weighted Average (GWA)
- For Full State Scholarship Program (FSSP) and Full Private Education Student Financial Assistance (FPESPA), GWA must be 96% or above.
- For Half-SSP and Half-PESPA, GWA must be 93% but not more than 95%.
- Must have a combined annual gross income of parents/guardian which does not exceed Four Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP 400,000), or in cases where the income exceeds PhP 400,000 an applicant must present written certification or medical findings of illness of a family member, or school certifications of two or more dependents enrolled in college;
- Avail of only one government-funded financial assistance program.
There are requirements for CHED scholarship application that you must prepare and submit to the Commission.
