Undeniably, the traffic in Metro Manila requires a huge amount of patience. Thus, a lot of people turn to train systems in getting to their destinations to avoid the stressful traffic that can cause delay.
There are a few existing trains in the National Capital Region (NCR) — the Light Rail Transit Line 1, the Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT 2), the Metro Rail Transit (MRT Line 3), and the Philippine National Railways Metro Commuter Line.
Also called the Green Line, the LRT Line 1 is operated by the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC). It traverses four cities in Metro Manila — Manila, Pasay, Quezon City, and Caloocan.
LRT 1 Stations list in order contains 21 main stations. They are the following:
- Baclaran Station
- EDSA Station
- Libertad Station
- Gil Puyat Station
- Vito Cruz Station
- Quirino Avenue Station

Baclaran is currently the southern most station among the LRT 1 Stations list in order. It is followed by the EDSA station which is located perpendicular to the Metro Rail Transit or MRT. There are also several jeepneys and taxi plying from EDSA to the different points in Metro Manila.
Under the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project, eight (8) additional stations were proposed to be added to the list of LRT 1 stations. The said project extends the rail transit to 11 kilometers more to the Southern part. Here are the additional stations proposed to be added to the LRT 1 Stations list in order:
- Redemptorist Station (after Baclaran Station)
- Manila International Airport (MIA) Station
- Asiaworld Station
- Ninoy Aquino Station
- Dr. Santos Station
- Las Piñas Station
- Zapote Station
- Niog Station
The completion of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Project is eyed in 2024. The fare in riding the LRT-1 costs between P15 to P35 depending on your destination. The train follows a schedule with the first run at 4:30 a.m. from Baclaran and Roosevelt and the last trips at 10:00 p.m. from Baclaran and 10:15 p.m. from Roosevelt.
