Yes, there is a holiday pay rate in the Philippines based on the type of holiday for employees who have to render duties during a holiday.

The Department of Labor and Employment, more popularly called DOLE, has set the holiday pay rate in the Philippines. The list of Philippine holidays this 2025 is composed not only of regular holidays but as well as special non-working days.
Here is a guide for the employees and the employers with regards to the holiday pay that the working employees on a holiday are entitled:
Regular Holidays
If it is a regular holiday like the Christmas Day, employees who worked for eight (8) hours during the day are entitled to a double pay for it. Here’s the computation:
- Formula — (Basic Wage + cost of living allowance or COLA) x 200%
- Sample — P2,000 x 2 = P4,000
In case the employee did an overtime work during a regular holiday, he/she is entitled to a doubled hourly rate for the first eight (8) hours of duty and an additional of 30% of the hourly rate. Here is a guide:
- Formula — Hourly Rate x 2 x 1.30 x number of hours worked
- Sample — P120 x 2 x 1.30 x 9 hours = P2,808
In case the regular holiday fell on the rest day of the employee and he/she rendered service to the company or office, the employee is entitled to a holiday pay rate in the Philippines that include another 30% extra pay on top of his/her double pay in addition to the 200% basic salary for the day.
- Formula — [(Basic Salary + COLA) x 200%] + [30% (Basic Salary x 200%)]
- Sample:
- (Php 900 x 2) + 0.30 (Php 900 x 2)
- Php 1,800] + 0.30 (Php 1,800)
- Php 1,800 + Php 540
- Php 2,340
In the case of employees whose work is cancelled on a regular holiday like in the government offices, they won’t have deductions for the day. Aside from the regular holiday, another type of holiday in the Philippines is the special non-working day.
