The field of employment in the country is under the labor rules that require the employers to pay their workers with an extra pay when they report to work on a holiday.

There is a long list of holidays in the Philippines this 2025 and the list includes several special non-working days throughout the year. During the following days, employees who report to work are entitled for an extra pay:
August
- August 21 (Thursday) – Ninoy Aquino Day
November
- November 1 (Saturday) – All Saints Day
December
- December 8 (Monday) – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
- December 31 (Wednesday) – Last Day of the Year
How much is the special non-working day holiday pay in the Philippines? Based on the labor rules in the country, an employee who works on a special non-working day is entitled to an addition pay of 30% of their daily wage for the first eight hours.
Here is an example:
- Basic Daily Wage — Php 750
- Extra Pay — Php 750 x 0.30 = Php 225
- Salary for the day — Php 925
