PAG-IBIG CALAMITY LOAN – Here is a guide on the loan offer that the Pag-IBIG Fund members may turn to in times of natural disasters.
Among the countless events that can never be stopped or is beyond human control, many of these are the natural disasters. The list of these natural calamities may include the following:
- Typhoon
- Earthquake
- Storm surge
- Volcanic eruption
- Landslide
- Tornado
- El Niño and La Niña phenomena
- Tsunami
The Philippines is undeniably prone to a lot of natural disasters most especially typhoons and earthquakes. The latter hit the different parts of the country almost every day. Since natural calamities are completely beyond the human control, preparations are the most that we can do.
It is best to prepare for eligibility to calamity loans in case these natural disasters take place. It can be an assurance that you have something to turn to when the unexpected happens.
One of the government agencies that offer this type of loan is the Pag-IBIG Fund which has been in the service of the Filipino people for decades already. The government agency was primarily designed to help countless Filipinos achieve residential properties in affordable ways.
The Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan is one of the three (3) loan offers of the state entity aside from the Pag-IBIG Housing Loan and the Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan or MPL. Here are the qualifications in availing the loan offer:
- at least twenty-four (24) monthly membership savings under the Pag-IBIG Regular Savings
- in active membership, by having at least one (1) monthly membership savings within the last six (6) months prior to the date of loan application
- resident of an area declared by the Office of the President or the Local Sangguniang under a State of Calamity
- has sufficient proof of income
In case you have an existing Pag-IBIG Housing Loan, Calamity Loan, and/or Multi-Purpose Loan, the existing loan account must not be in default.
