Guide on DSWD Food Cash Assistance Eligibilities & Amount
DSWD FOOD CASH ASSISTANCE – Here is a guide on who are qualified to avail the DSWD offer and how much you may get under the offer.
In the Philippines, the government body that spearheads the programs that benefit countless Filipinos in different circumstances is the Department of Social Welfare and Development. It is more popularly called DSWD.
The DSWD has launched several programs that cater to the needs of many Filipinos most especially the poor. One of these programs is the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation or more popularly called AICS.
There are several offers under AICS. Aside from the DSWD Educational Cash Assistance, the social welfare department also offers the DSWD Food Cash Assistance. It is open for many individuals including the following:
- individuals who are caring for their sick relatives in the hospital
- the grantee(s) of the DSWD Transportation Cash Assistance on his/her/their return to their home province
- the grantee(s) of the transportation cash aid on his/her/their return to their home province or attendance to court hearings
- rescued individuals
- stranded individuals due to emergency situations
The assistance may be released in the form of cash but it may also be in the form of food packs or a voucher with a monetary value. Under the DSWD Food Cash Assistance, an amount of at least Php 80 per meal per individual may be granted by the social welfare department for up to a maximum of eight (8) days.
To apply for the cash assistance offer, here are the documents that must be submitted to the DSWD:
- valid ID
- Barangay Certificate or Residency / Certificate of Indigency / Certificate that the client is in need of assistance
- Authorization Letter, if applicable
Aside from the Transportation and Educational assistance offers, under the AICS, another offer of the social welfare department is the DSWD Medical Cash Assistance.
