Aside from the Social Security System, another giant social insurance institution in the Philippines is the GSIS or the Government Service Insurance System. Millions of Filipinos are members of the state-run social insurance entity.
There is a huge advantage in being a member of the GSIS with an active account — it widens the financial options of the member. Thus, an active GSIS membership is required among the employees of the government. It offers financial options through the different GSIS benefits and loan offers for the members. One of the loan offer is the Multi-Purpose Loan.
Also called MPL, the GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan provides cash that can finance several purposes. There are only a few GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan requirements for application and there are also options on the application process.
Here are the GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan requirements for application:
- duly-accomplished GSIS Multi-Purpose Loan (MPL) Application Form
- photocopy of the eCard or UMID eCard
Here are the different options for application to the Multi-Purpose Loan offer of the Government Service Insurance System:
via eGSISMO
- Access your eGSISMO account (BP number and PW)
- Tap/Click Loans Application icon and choose (Multi-purpose Loan), Loan Type (New or Renewal)
- Upload a Picture of Member holding UMID / Temporary CARD or 2 Valid Government IDs if UMID / Temporary CARD is lost (as JPEG or PDF File)
- Confirm Loan Agreement and tap/click SAVE
- Await email confirmation from GSIS for tentative loan computation
via Email
- Fill out the Multipurpose Loan Application Form
- Take a clear photo of yourself while holding your GSIS UMID eCard (or temporary eCard); if GSIS UMID eCard or temporary eCard is not available, present 2 valid IDs instead and do the following:
- Take a clear photo of the 2 valid IDs (front and back) and;
- Save the Application Form and photos as JPEG or PDF File
- Email the documents to your GSIS handling branch
- Await email confirmation from GSIS for tentative loan computation
via GWAPS Kiosk
- Go to a GWAPS kiosk nearest you.
- Put your eCard Plus/UMID in the G-W@PS kiosk card reader. Next, place your finger in the biometrics scanner. Once recognized, personal data will be displayed.
- Choose Loan Windows icon and tap/click on Multipurpose Loan. The tentative computation of your preferred loan will be shown in the screen. You may adjust the loan amount and/or payment term.
- Confirm your loan application by placing the selected finger on the biometrics scanner.
- Await for email or SMS from GSIS regarding the approval of your loan.
