GSIS COMPUTER LOAN – Here is a guide on how much a member may borrow from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) for the purchase of a computer.
Currently, the Philippines is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. It is one of the over 200 countries and territories affected by the coronavirus disease that was first recorded in China last December 2019.
In PH, more than 47,000 cases of COVID-19 were recorded with over 1,300 deaths and 12,300 recoveries. The whole nation is still under a community quarantine now due to the pandemic.
This coronavirus disease has affected almost everything. Classes have yet to open, the public vehicles have to reduce their loading capacity, restaurants and other public areas have to strictly implement social distancing, and a lot more.
With regards to the classes in schools, distance learning is implemented by some schools. Undeniably, many teachers and students are worrying about not having a computer or laptop.
The Government Service Insurance System is ready to assist its members with regards to the said need amid the crisis. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the social insurance institution will launch the GSIS Computer Loan Program on August 1.
Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III said that under the GSIS Computer Loan Program, an active member may borrow Php 30,000.00 for the purchase of a computer or laptop.
Based on the report, the member can pay the loan for up to three (3) years or thirty-six monthly installments. The interest rate will be at six (6) percent.
As of this writing, there are still no further details regarding the upcoming loan offer of the GSIS. More updates may be posted soon.
