GSIS SCHOOL TUITION LOAN – Here is a guide on how much is the maximum loanable amount under this loan that the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) is set to offer.

So many realities in the Philippines have changed since the COVID-19 pandemic has reached the country. For several months now, most areas in the country are under a community quarantine.

In fact, the whole nation is under a community quarantine now to prevent the spread of this coronavirus disease. More than 47,000 people in the country were infected by it and at least 1,000 lost their lives to it.

Amid the COVID-19 crisis, many people lost their jobs. Several businesses had no choice but to close due to their losses and the fact that they cannot fully operate. Also, if they can, there are really businesses that won’t work now as everyone is advised to stay at home.

A lot of parents now are surely having a hard time on where to get money for the education of the children. It is really a struggle most especially if the only breadwinner in the house lost his or her job.

On the positive side, there are government agencies that offer assistance. One of them is the Government Service Insurance System or more commonly called as GSIS.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the social insurance institution is set to launch the a program that is like a GSIS School Tuition Loan as it can assist in the payment of school fees.

According to Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, under the offer, a member may borrow up to Php 100,000.00 per academic school year. The said GSIS School Tution Loan Program is set to be launched on September 17, 2020.

Based on the report, with regards to the repayment of the loan, the Finance Secretary expressed that it can be paid after five (5) years since the loan proceeds were released. He hasn’t mention the interest rate for the loan.
