In the Philippines, a huge part of the populace of the elders are pensioners of the social insurance institutions. Many of them are receiving a monthly pensioner from the Government Service Insurance System.

More commonly called as GSIS, the said social insurance institution is ran by the state and most of its members are employees of the government. Meanwhile, there are also those who are no longer working as a government employee but have continued their accounts with the state-run agency.

With regards to the pensioners of GSIS, they are entitled to several benefits aside from the monthly pension they are receiving. The government institution also gives pensioners a cash gift every December.

Previously, an executive officer of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) said that the cash gift for this year will be released in the first week of December.

Recently, the GSIS gave a new update about the much-awaited releasing of the GSIS Christmas Cash Gift. The amount that will be received by the pensioners was revealed.

According to GSIS President Rolando Macasaet Jr., those pensioners who received a GSIS Christmas Cash Gift amounting to Php 10,000.00 in 2019 will receive a cash gift that is equivalent to their one-month pension this December.

The cash gift will be downloaded to the account of the pensioners. The state-run institution has previously warned the members of the upcoming system upgrade thus transactions must be done before the set date.
