Have you heard about the MP2 Savings program of the Pag-IBIG Fund? It is one offer of the Fund that can help you grow your money just within a five-year time. Through this program, it is easier to save with higher dividends that are tax-free and government-guaranteed.
How to open a Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings account? Before opening an account, it is best to check the qualifications set by the Fund to make sure that you are eligible to open an account and avoid wasting your time.
The MP2 Savings program is open for all active Pag-IBIG member; former Pag-IBIG Fund members with other sources of monthly income and have at least 24 monthly savings prior to retirement; and natural Born Filipinos who reacquired their Filipino Citizenship pursuant to RA 9225 or the Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition Act of 2003 with at least 24 monthly savings prior to permanent migration to another country.
To open a Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings account, there are two (2) choices — at a Pag-IBIG Fund branch or online. Here’s a guide:
Option 1 — Through a Pag-IBIG Fund Branch
- Step 1 — Accomplish the MP2 Savings Enrolment Form.
- Step 2 — Submit it to a branch of the Fund.
Option 2 — Through Pag-IBIG Online
- Step 1 — Enrol through your Virtual Pag-IBIG. Once you are issued an MP2 Savings account number, you can start saving!
The minimum amount in saving under the Pag-IBIG MP2 Savings program is Php 500.00. There is an option to remit a one-time lump sum amount for the whole 5-year period of your MP2 Savings.
There is no limit as to how much you can save. However, for savings above Php 500,000, the government agency requires member “to make such remittance via personal or Manager’s Check”.
