The state-entity, a government institution that is operating in the Philippines for several decades now, has several Pag-IBIG Fund loans that members can turn to in times of need. These can be your safety net from the unforeseen circumstances.
While the Fund is most popular for its Housing Loan offer that can finance several purposes, it also has a Calamity Loan offer that members can turn to in times of flood, typhoon, earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, etc. The loan proceeds can be a huge help in recovering from the impacts of the natural calamity.
Who are qualified to apply for Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan offer?
The Pag-IBIG Fund has set a few qualifications under its loan offer which are part of the Pag-IBIG Fund Calamity Loan requirements that must be complied by the member-borrower.
To be eligible to apply for the loan offer, the member-borrower must have posted at least 24 monthly savings or contributions in his/her account. Also, at least one of the posted contributions or savings must have been posted within six (6) months prior to the loan application.
In applying for the loan offer, there are also Pag-IBIG Fund Calamity Loan requirements that are documentary by nature. The Fund has set different lists of required documents among the salaried and non-salaried members of the Fund.
In the case of overseas Filipino worker (OFW) members of the Fund, here is a guide on the documents that it requires for submission to apply:
General Requirements:
- original copy of a duly-accomplished and signed Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan Application Form
- photocopy of a valid ID acceptable to the Fund
Proof of Income (submit any of the following):
- Certificate of Employment and Compensation (CEC)
- Employment Contract
- Income Tax Return filed with Host Country/Government
