Guide on PhilHealth Contribution 2021 for Members Who Are Employees
PHILHEALTH CONTRIBUTION 2021 – Here is a guide on the contribution rate for employees members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. who are earning between more than Php 10,000.00 monthly but below Php 70,000.00.
A huge part of the Filipino populace is a member of PhilHealth. Many of these members are employed individuals while some are self-employed and those who applied for voluntary memberships to the agency.
If you are a PhilHealth member with an active account, you may be eligible to obtain the benefits of the government health insurance company. Many members turn to it in times of medical emergencies such as hospitalizations.
Recently, PhilHealth announced an increase on the monthly contribution. The implementation is set to start this January. From 3%, the monthly contribution rate is raised to 3.5% of the salary or income of the member.
Under the PhilHealth Contribution 2021, employees and employers would still share 50-50 on the contribution of the former. For those employees earning Php 10,000.01 to Php 69,999.99, the monthly contribution will be between Php 350.00 to Php 2,449.00 depending on the salary of the member.
Since it’s a 50-50 scheme, if the monthly contribution of the employee is Php 1,200.00, half of it or Php 600.00 of it will come from the employee’s salary and the remaining half will be paid by the employer.
However, due to the recent allegations of corruption, many members of PhilHealth are not in favor of the increase on the monthly contribution. Also, a lot of people are financially struggling now due to the COVID-19 crisis.
