PHILHEALTH MONTHLY CONTRIBUTION 2022 – Here is a guide on the new contribution rate for members who are earning Php 10,000.00 up.
Truth be told that not everyone can afford to get health insurance policies that can assist them in times of medical emergencies or health situations. Meanwhile, in the Philippines, there is a more affordable option that Filipinos can turn to – a PhilHealth membership.
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation or more commonly called PhilHealth is a government agency that aims to assist its members during medical and health situations. A huge part of the Filipino populace is a member of the said government agency.
In fact, most employees have mandatory membership to PhilHealth which is also a way to get the people prepared from unforeseen circumstances. The government offers several benefits including assistance during hospitalizations, surgeries, and childbirth.
Under the Universal Healthcare Act, the PhilHealth monthly contribution rate is set to increase until it reaches 5%. Supposedly, a hike was set last year but it was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic led to the closure of businesses, small and big, which further resulted in the loss of jobs for many people. Meanwhile, the restrictions were eased now following the decrease in the cases in the country.
The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. has decided to implement the hike in PhilHealth Monthly Contribution Rate this June. From the current 3%, it will be increased to 4%. The exact amount will depend on the salary of the member.
PhilHealth has set an income floor of Php 10,000.00 and an income ceiling of Php 80,000.00. According to the government agency, the PhilHealth monthly contribution rate for members who are earning Php 10,000.01 and up will be between Php 400.00 to Php 3,200.00.
If you are earning Php 12,000.00, your monthly premium is Php 480.00. However, according to PhilHealth, if your monthly income is above Php 80,000.00, your monthly premium is fixed at Php 3,200.00.
