The National Heroes Day is a regular holiday in the Philippines for several decades now. It is the time for the people to commemorate the selfless acts of our national heroes who offered their lives to the country and for the freedom of the Filipino people.

Usually, ahead of the holiday, the Department of Labor and Employment or more popularly called DOLE issues a labor advisory regarding the holiday pay for those who will work during the National Heroes Day celebration. There are specific August 25 holiday pay rules that must be observed.
