Guide on Postal ID Requirements in Getting the Identification Card
POSTAL ID REQUIREMENTS – Here are the documents needed in getting an ID issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost).
Identification documents and cards are usually among the requirements in applying for a loan, getting a car, buying a house, applying for a benefit grant, and a lot more important things. That is why having valid IDs is very important.
The list of valid ID cards is quite long but one of the easiest to process or apply for is the Postal ID. It is issued by the Philippine Postal Corporation or more commonly called PhilPost.
The Postal ID’s validity is three (3) years for Filipinos and foreign residents in the Philippines who have Special Retiree’s Resident Visa or SRRV. For the other foreigners, its validity is one (1) year.
Here are the Postal ID requirements for application that you must prepare and submit to Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost):
- two (2) duly-accomplished Postal ID Application Form
- proof of identity
- PSA Birth Certificate, SSS ID, UMID ID, GSIS ID, passport, or driver’s license; or
- any two (2) of the following valid IDs:
- Alumni ID
- Baptismal certificate
- Confirmation certificate
- Company ID
- Elementary or High School Form 137
- IBP ID
- NBI clearance
- OWWA ID
- Pag-IBIG ID
- PhilHealth ID
- Police clearance
- PRC ID
- Seaman’s Book
- Senior citizen ID
- School ID
- Transcript of Records
- TIN ID
- Voter’s ID
- proof of address (any of the following):
- electric bill, water bill, internet bill, cable bill, or other utility bill
- Barangay Certificate issued within three (3) months prior to the Postal ID application
- Bank Statement
- credit card billing statement
- Certificate True Copy of titles or lease
For female applicants of a Postal ID, you need to submit a Marriage Certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). For foreign residents in the Philippines, it is a different set of postal ID requirements such as the following:
- two (2) filled-out copies of the Postal ID Application Form
- Passport valid for six months before postal ID application
- proof of address under the name of the foreigner applicant and must be issued within three (3) months before the Postal ID application
- Barangay Certificate of Residency
- Bank statement
- Credit card statement
- Certification or statement of account from a transient home, hotel, or another temporary residential property
- School billing statement
- Notarized land, house, or condominium lease contract
- Utility bill
Submit your requirements to the nearest Philpost Office. If you are in Metro Manila, the processing may take 15 days before you get your ID. If you are in other cities and provinces outside Metro Manila, the processing time is 20 days. For applicants living in remote provinces and islands, the processing time is 30 days.
