PWD ID DISCOUNTS & BENEFITS – Here is a full list of the privileges for the cardholders of the Persons with Disability ID card.
Have you heard about the PWD ID for persons with disabilities? It has a lot of privileges for individuals who are dealing with disabilities including grocery discounts and in availing dining services.
The said ID for persons with disabilities is issued by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office or the city/municipal Social Welfare and Development Office where the person lives. Below, you can check the PWD ID discounts and benefits.
Here are the PWD ID discounts and benefits for the cardholders:
20% Discount and Value Added Tax (VAT) Exemption. The PWD ID cardholers are entitled to a 20% discount from paying VAT when buying products and services for their exclusive use. Among these products and services are the following:
- foods and consumable items
- medicines, medical supplies, and laboratory fees
- fare for domestic air and sea travel
- professional fees of doctors
- hotel and restaurant services
- theaters, cinemas, and concert admissions
- fare for land transportation
- funeral and burial services
5% Special Discount on Basic Necessities. Aside from 20% discount and VAT exemption, also part of the PWD ID discounts and benefits is a 5% special discount on basic necessities on the purchase of basic commodities including the following:
- rice
- fruits
- fresh meat
- drinking water
- processed meat
- dairy products
Mandatory Coverage under the SSS/GSIS, Pag-IBIG Fund, and PhilHealth. Persons with disabilities will be required to apply for a membership to the state entities thus giving them access to their offers as well.
Express Lanes. PWD ID holders have express lanes in availing services like paying for groceries. In the absence of express lanes, they are prioritized in most establishments.
LGU Benefits. There are local government units that offer special and specific benefits for the cardholders of the PWD ID.
