Aside from the DSWD Solo Parent Cash Assistance, the Department of Social Welfare and Development also has the DSWD Burial Assistance offer or also called the Funeral Assistance. It was designed to make sure that poor Filipinos have something to turn to in the pursuit of giving their deceased loved ones a decent wake.
The DSWD Burial Assistance offer is under the AICS or the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation program of the social welfare department. In applying for the offer, there are some DSWD Burial Assistance requirements for application.
Before checking on the DSWD Burial Assistance requirements for application, it is important to know that the offer is open for the survivors of the deceased Filipino citizens. The filer should be able to submit the documents required.
Here are the DSWD Burial Assistance requirements for application:
- valid identification document (ID)
- Death Certificate with or without a civil registry number
- Certificate from any of the following:
- hospital or doctor
- Imam for the Moros
- Tribal Chieftain or head of the Indigenous Peoples
- Funeral Contract
- Promissory Note or Certificate of Balance if there is an existing balance in the contracted funeral home
- Transfer Permit in case the deceased need to be transferred to another province
- Invoice or Billing Statement (Statement of Account)
- Barangay Certificate, outlining family expenses related to the casket
- family’s gross income not surpassing the poverty threshold set by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)
Aside from the Burial Assistance offer, the social welfare department also has the DSWD Student Cash Assistance offer.
