HOLIDAY PAY NOVEMBER 1 – Here is a guide on the holiday pay for the All Saints’ Day celebration this coming Saturday.

Among the widely-celebrated occasions by most Filipinos are the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day which are celebrated every November 1 and 2 annually. They are usually part of the list of holidays but it depends on the presidential proclamation if they are a regular holiday or a special non-working day.

Countless Filipinos often return to their hometowns for the All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day celebration and they would usually travel on October 31st. Thus, usually, October 31 is also declared a holiday to give the Filipinos time to travel home for the November 1 and 2 celebrations.

Through the Proclamation No. 727, President Bongbong Marcos declared November 1 as a special non-working day. Pursuant to the Labor Advisory No. 13, series of 2025, the following holiday pay for November 1 applies:

  • “No work, no pay” rule applies on November 1 which is a special non-working holiday unless the company/employer has a special agreement
  • Workers who report to work are entitled to a holiday pay for November 1 which is equivalent to 30% of the basic wage for the first eight hours of work
  • If the worker works overtime on a special non-working day, he/she is entitled to an additional holiday pay for November 1 which is equivalent to 30% of the hourly rate of the said day
  • If November 1 is also a rest day of the worker who will report to his/her job, he/she is entitled to an additional holiday pay that is equivalent to 50% of the basic wage for the first eight hours of work
  • For overtime work during a special non-working day that also falls on a rest day of the worker, he/she is entitled to an additional holiday pay that is equivalent to 30% of the hourly rate on the said day
