One of the biggest social insurance institutions in the Philippines is the Government Service Insurance System or more popularly called as GSIS. Many Filipinos are members of the said state-run institution.
Members remit a part of their salary to GSIS every month. The contribution will depend on the monthly wage of the member. Accumulated savings will qualify a member to the benefits and loans offered by GSIS.
One of those that members with updated accounts and have reached the required monthly savings may avail is the GSIS Retirement Benefit. A member may either get a monthly pension after retirement from service or a one-time lump sum.

Previously, an officer of the GSIS assured the pensioners that the cash gift will be released in the first week of December. With regards to the amount, another officer of the state-run institution recently spoke about it.
According to GSIS President Rolando Macasaet, pensioners who received more than Php 10,000.00 as GSIS Christmas Cash Gift in 2019 may get up to Php 12,600.00 this year.
GSIS is set to release P3.3 billion of funds for the cash gift of the pensioners. it will be good if the it will be 13th month pension so that it will be based on the actual monthly pension since those active are receiving their 14th month bonus pensioners likewise if possible just 13th month pension.

Why is it that some will receive a cash gift of 12,600, while others or if not most received only 10,000? May we know who are those entitled to receive the 12,600 and its category as basis for receiving such amount? Hope we will be clarified on this.
