Some Eatery Vendors Finding Ways To Cope with Market Price Increase
EATERY VENDORS – Many of those who have eatery business are greatly affected by the increase in the prices of meat and vegetables.
One of the most popular small businesses in the Philippines is eatery business. In fact, there is a lot of this everywhere in the country and there are many rich individuals who also love eating in eateries. They can usually be found near schools, public institutions and agencies, and other buildings that holds a lot of employees.
Truths be told that running an eatery may also be a strenuous business. Most owners are also the ones who cook and sells the food in the eatery and they would usually start at dawn and finish late night.
Another challenge in running an eatery business is coping with the changes in the market. An increase in meat products and vegetables can greatly affect the eatery.
Based on a recent report on ABS-CBN News, many eatery vendors are currently greatly affected by the increase in the prices of meat, fish, and vegetables in the market. Some of them have to stay open the whole day to be able to cope with the expenses.
Speaking to Kabayan Noli de Castro, an eatery vendor in Commonwealth, Quezon City used to open her eatery in the morning until night time. However, now, she has to open it overnight to be able to cope with the expenses and to earn some money. She is paying P1,000.00 a day for the rent.
Based on the report, the said vendor also increased the prices of the food she’s selling. Eatery vendors are struggling not only due to the situation amid the COVID-19 pandemic now but as well as the rainy season.
While others increased their prices by P2.00 to P5.00 per serve of a viand, some vendors opted to maintain the price but reduce the serving size. They have no choice but to do it to keep things afloat until the prices of meat and vegetables will drop.
