Big Oil Price Hike To Take Place on January 4
BIG OIL PRICE HIKE – A huge increase in the prices of oil is set to take place on January 4, 2022 and here are the estimated increases.
One of the price changes that usually affect a lot of people is the change in the price of oil or fuel. It is mainly because many people in the Philippines now own a car and there are also a lot of individuals who drive public utility vehicles for a living.
Furthermore, not only those who usually drive vehicles are affected by any small or big oil price hike but as well as businesses that are using oil for their operation. The increase in the operating expenses of these businesses may further affect the prices of their outputs.
However, there are a lot of factors that affect the prices of oil thus not even the government can fully control it. Recently, there is an update that a big oil price hike is set to take place.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, starting January 4, 2022, a big oil price hike is set to take place and here are the estimated increases in the prices of fuel in different gas stations:
Caltex (Starting 12:01 midnight)
- Gasoline +P1.85/L
- Diesel +P2.40/L
- Kerosene +P1.85/L
Shell, Seaoil (Starting 6:00 a.m.)
- Gasoline +P1.85/L
- Diesel +P2.40/L
- Kerosene +P1.85/L
Petro Gazz, PTT Philippines (Starting 6:00 a.m.)
- Gasoline +P1.85/L
- Diesel +P2.40/L
Cleanfuel (Starting 4:01 p.m.)
- Gasoline +P1.85/L
- Diesel +P2.40/L
Previously, transport groups called for assistance amid the series of price increases in oil. They filed a petition calling for the increase of the minimum fare from P9.00 to P12.00. The government assured fuel subsidy to registered public utility vehicles to aid them in their struggles. The capacity of the PUVs was also increased.
