The Filipinos are currently struggling financially due to a lot of factors. One of these is the series of oil price hikes that have kept on pulling the prices of fuel up since January 2022. Many public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers are already appealing for assistance amid the oil price hikes.
According to the Department of Energy (DOE), the series of oil price increases is due to the high demand for oil across the globe. Prior to the war between Ukraine and Russia, the authorities said that the prices of oil may continue to go on an upward trend until May or June.
