ELON MUSK’S STARLINK – The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) approved the registration of Starlink to provide internet in the Philippines.
The world has greatly changed now and technology has visibly come far. Nowadays, there are a lot of things that make people’s lives easier. You don’t have to wait for months for your letters to get to another country to communicate with someone who is miles away from you. There are jobs that do not require you to report to the office. You can easily search for the meaning of words online. You can just hold your phone and enjoy the funny videos on social media to shrug off the negativities.
All these things are possible because of the advancement in technology now. Aside from the gadgets that were founded, the presence of internet services has also greatly changed the way people live. Undeniably, an internet connection is now one of the primary things needed in businesses, schools, and almost all other fields.
In the Philippines, there are several internet providers that people can choose from to fulfill the service they need. However, truth be told that there had been a lot of complaints about some of these internet providers.
Recently, the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) approved another internet services provider – billionaire Elon Musk’s Starlink. It is under the world’s richest person’s giant company, SpaceX.
Elon Musk’s Starlink is a low-earth orbit satellite internet provider that can reach even the remote areas as per a report on ABS-CBN News. Its registration gained the approval of NTC as a value-added service (VAS) provider. The approval gives the company direct access to satellite systems and builds and operates broadband facilities that can offer public internet services.
NTC commits to helping ensure an expedite and professional rollout of the services offered by Starlink. It is set to offer low latency satellite internet service with a download speed between 100 Mbps to 200 Mbps.
