Nowadays, the internet has become one of the services availed by a lot of people daily. It is used in school, work, and even in personal activities inside the household. Many families love downloading movies online to watch films together.
Most people now really allot a daily or monthly budget for their internet data or connection as it is needed for the things that must comply with in schools and work. The pandemic which called students to go into online classes has ignited the need for a stable and fast internet connection even more.
When it comes to internet providers in the Philippines, there are three (3) big names – Smart, Globe, and DITO. The usual question is, ‘What is the fastest internet provider in PH?’.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, industry tracker OpenSignal studied the performance of Smart, Globe, and DITO in the first three months of 2022. It revealed the fastest internet provider in PH for downloads, for uploads, and the one with a consistent quality service.
According to the report, as per the findings of OpenSignal, Smart Communications is the fastest internet provider in PH when it comes to downloads and 5G availability. It had an average download speed of 19.7 Mbps and 149.9 Mbps for 5G.
When it comes to the most consistent quality of service, OpenSignal named Globe as it meets the minimum speed required in watching a high-definition video, ‘complete group video conference calls’, and playing games.
Based on the report, DITO Telecommunity is the fastest internet provider for uploads at 4.8 Mbps. The findings of OpenSignal also matched the results of the study of another industry tracker, Ookla.
