P100K COMMEMORATIVE BANKNOTE – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas showed the P100,000 bill for collectors to mark the National Heroes Day.

Today, the Philippines is celebrating the National Heroes Day. It is one of the regular holidays in the list of the Philippine Holidays 2024 and every year. Every time this holiday happens, classes in schools and work in the government offices are cancelled.

In the case of employees in the private sector, they get a “double pay” or a 100% pay on top of their salary for the day for reporting to duty. There are several programs held by the government to commemorate the National Heroes Day.

With regards to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), to mark the celebration of the National Heroes Day, it showed the P100,000 commemorative banknote for collectors. According to the Central Bank, the said commemorative bills are part of its numismatic or money coin and printed money collection.

According to tge BSP, the P100K commemorative banknote is the largest Philippine commemorative bill printed in 1998 for the celebration of the centennial of the Philippine Independence. The said collectors’ bill shows the iconic scene of the struggles of the Filipino heroes for the 1896 Philippine Independence.

The banknote showed the Sigaw ng Himagsikan led by the chief of Katipunan, Gat Andres Bonifacio. The other side of the collectors bill show the proclamation of the Philippine Independence led by General Emilio Aguinaldo on June 12, 1898 in Kawit, Cavite.

According to Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, only 1000 pieces of the P100K commemorative banknote for collectors were printed. This collectors bill can be bought as a collectible at the BSP Store.

Aside from the P100,000 collectors bill, the BSP has also launched a 150-piso coin and a 125-piso coin.
