Update on DOLE Nationwide Job Fair Offering Face-to-Face, Online Applications

DOLE NATIONWIDE JOB FAIR – The anniversary job fair of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) starts today, December 7, 2021.

Many Filipinos lost their jobs amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Several companies were not able to manage the impacts of the pandemic and they reached the edge leading them to have no choice but to temporarily or permanently close their operation.

Most of the companies and businesses that closed amid the pandemic rely on daily income. Due to the community quarantine measures that limit the operations and as well as the “new normal” lifestyle of the people now, for weeks or months, they incurred huge expenses with no returns. Most of these are non-essential businesses.

The closure of businesses in the Philippines is equivalent to the loss of jobs for many people. Unfortunately, a lot of breadwinners of their families lost their source of income amid the crisis.

For most public and private agencies, they were not able to hold wide job fairs amid the pandemic as social gatherings are restricted. Their only option was to do it online but not everyone has access to online work opportunities.

After nearly two (2) years due to the pandemic, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is once again conducting a job fair that offers face-to-face applications. You may also apply for a job online should you wish to do it that way.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the DOLE Nationwide Job Fair that starts today in the National Capital Region (NCR) is part of the anniversary celebration of the labor department. The event is set to run for a week.

According to Assistant Secretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay, yesterday the job vacancies were at 15,000 but it increased to 30,000 today. On December 8, 2021, all of the DOLE regional offices will conduct a job fair and other offices will extend until December 13, 2021 depending on the number of work opportunities to be offered.
