Due to the rise in the COVID-19 cases in Metro Manila after the holiday season, the national government decided to place the whole Metro Manila under Alert Level 3. Initially, the implementation was set from January 3 to January 15 but it was further extended until the end of the month.
Amid the implementation of Alert Level 3, the operational capacity of shopping malls and restaurants was reduced thus affecting the income of the businesses. Several employers also had to agree with implementing an alternative scheme on the duties of their employees.
A lot of Filipinos lost their jobs amid the implementation of Alert Level 3. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) assured to extend financial assistance to displaced workers.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the one-time cash aid of the Labor Department for the displaced workers amounts to P5,000.00. The employer may apply for the displaced workers or the worker himself may take an individual application.
There are a few DOLE cash aid requirements that must be complied with in applying for financial assistance. If you will be applying for it as an individual application, the following are the documents that you need to prepare:
- government-issued identification card (ID)
- company ID
- Proof of unemployment like notice of termination or notice of company closure
