Who are qualified to file a claim for SSS Maternity Benefit? For eligibility, the pregnant member must:
- have paid at least three (3) monthly contributions in the 12-month period prior to the semester of childbirth, miscarriage, or emergency termination of pregnancy
- If employed, the member must have notified her employer of her pregnancy and the probable date of her childbirth, notice of which shall be transmitted to the Social Security System (SSS)
- If self-employed, the member must directly notify the SSS
- If unemployed, the member must directly notify the SSS
- If a voluntary member, the member must directly notify the SSS
- If an overseas Filipino worker (OFW), the member must directly notify the SSS
How much is the SSS Maternity Benefits? According to the Social Security System, the SSS Maternity Benefit amount of the daily cash allowance for a pregnant member “is equivalent to 100% of her ADSC”. The maximum limit under the benefit offer is 105 day for normal or caesarean section delivery and 120 days for solo parents.
