List of Calamity Loans for Victims of Abra Earthquake
CALAMITY LOANS – Different government agencies offer loans for the victims of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that hit Abra.
Earthquakes can happen anytime and anywhere. Experts share a common ground in saying that full accuracy is impossible in detecting quakes – when it will occur, the affected areas, its intensity, depth, etc. Thus, it is important to be aware of the do’s and don’ts when the shaking happens.
Recently, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Abra. It was initially recorded at 7.3 magnitude before it was downgraded to 7.0 magnitude and was followed by several aftershocks.
The strong quake caused damage to infrastructures in Abra. Several private and public structures obtained damages and many families lost their homes. There are over 1,000 families who are staying in evacuation centers now.
Following the strong quake, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) was quick to confirm the cash aid and the food packs to be distributed for the quake victims in Abra. Several other government agencies and private sector groups also extended help and offers to the affected residents.
The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and the Pag-IBIG Fund are offering calamity loans for the victims of the earthquake. Both agencies confirmed and announced the loanable amounts under the said loan offers.
