In the Philippines, one of the biggest state-run entities with a very advantageous membership is the GSIS or the Government Service Insurance System. Millions of Filipinos are members of the GSIS which a social insurance entity.
Most of the GSIS members are individuals who are working or have worked in the government. It is mandated among the government employees to maintain an active account to the social insurance entity.
The main advantage of being a GSIS member with a qualified account is the eligibility to the GSIS loans which you may turn to in times of financial needs. One of the loan offers is the GSIS Calamity Loan or the Emergency Loan.
The GSIS Calamity Loan was crafted to help the members who place was struck by a natural disaster or a pandemic. It is open for a member who is a bona fide resident or employee of the government office within the declared calamity area; in active service and not on leave of absence without pay; has no arrearages in the payment of mandatory social insurance contributions; and has no loan that has been declared in default.
