Guide on GSIS Cash Bonus 2020 / Christmas Cash Gift Coverage
GSIS CASH BONUS 2020 – Here is a guide on whether or not GSIS pensioners whose pensions are in suspended status receive it.
The Government Service Insurance System or more commonly called as GSIS has a lot of benefits for its pensioners. One of it is the cash gift that is given every Christmas season.
Usually, GSIS releases the Christmas cash gift in the first or second week of December. It is a huge amount aside from the fact that it may be deposited to the pensioner’s account together with their pension for the month.
Many pensioners spend their cash gift on their vitamins and maintenance and as well as on gifts for their loved ones. The state-run social insurance institution starts processing the cash gift as early as December 1.
Undeniably, there are a lot of GSIS pensioners whose pensions are under a suspended status now. There is an Annual Pensioners Information Revalidation (APIR) and many were not able to revalidate their information leading to suspension of their pensions.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the APIR was lifted in March 2020. Many pensions are still under a suspended status as of December 1, 2020. Are these pensioners eligible to receive the GSIS Cash Bonus 2020?
According to GSIS, pensioners whose pensions are on suspended status as of December 1, 2020 in line with this year’s APIR will still receive the GSIS Cash Bonus 2020. However, they must activate their status on or before June 30, 2021.
