SSS RETIREMENT BENEFIT REQUIREMENTS 2025 – Here are the documents required by Social Security System for special cases of OTC applications.

The Social Security System has several benefit offers that were designed to help its members in different situations. Undeniably, among these benefit offers, the Retirement Benefit is the one that most members look forward to avail.

Aside from the SSS Unemployment Benefits, the social insurance giant has the SSS Retirement Benefit which is a cash benefit paid either in the form of a monthly pension or a lump sum to a member-retiree who decides to stop from working due to old age.

SSS Retirement Benefit Requirements 2025 for Over-the-Counter (OTC) Filing

In filing for a claim to the Social Security System, the process must be done online except in some cases that the social insurance giant has allowed for over-the-counter applications. Here are the cases that may file their claim OTC:

  1. Member has a dependent child/children;
  2. Member is incapacitated, under guardianship, or confined in an applicable institution such as penitentiary, correctional institution, or rehabilitation center;
  3. Member is applying under Portability Law or Bilateral Social Security Agreements; or
  4. Member has an outstanding Stock Investment Loan Program (SILP)/Privatization Loan Program/Educational Loan/Vocational Technology Loan balance. Outstanding loan balance shall be for salary/calamity or Salary Loan Early Renewal Program (SLERP).

To file for a claim to the Social Security System, here are the SSS Retirement Benefit requirements:

  • Retirement Claim Application (RCA) or RCA under Portability Law, if applicable (1 copy, original)
  • Member’s/Claimant’s Photo and Signature Card, if member/guardian has not been issued a UMID Card (1 copy, original)
  • Proof of disbursement account in any of the following:
    • Bank account through any PESONet participating banks
      • Passbook
      • ATM cards with name of claimant and account number
      • Validated deposit slip
      • Bank Certificate/Statement issued within three (3) months prior to filing of claim
    • Electronic wallet such as Maya or GCash
    • Pick-up arrangement with Remittance Transfer Companies (RTCs)/Cash Payout Outlets (CPOs)
  • Member’s Identification Cards/Documents (1 copy, original)

According to the Social Security System, with regards to the ID that you need to present as part of your SSS Retirement Benefit requirements, the primary ID must be a UMID Card, either an SSS or GSIS ID, and other government-issued ID cards bearing your photo, signature, and underwent biometric data capture process like the following:

  • Social Security (SS) Card
  • Philippine Identification (PhilID)
  • Alien Certificate of Registration
  • Driver’s License
  • Firearm Registration
  • License to Own and Possess Firearms
  • National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Clearance
  • Passport
  • Permit to Carry Firearms Outside of Residence
  • New Postal ID
  • Seafarer’s Identification & Record Book (Seaman’s Book)
  • Voter’s ID Card

The Social Security System also noted that there are additional SSS Retirement Benefit requirements in case you are at least 60 years old but below 65 years old. The required documents depend if you are employed, self-employed, a household helper, a voluntary member, or an overseas Filipino Worker member of the social insurance giant.

  • Certificate of separation issued by the last employer or all employers (if with multiple employers) (1 copy, photocopy); or
  • SSS Form – Affidavit of Separation from Employment/Cessation of Self-employment with Undertaking, regardless of status of employer.
  • Certificate of non-renewal for all of member’s business permit/license issued by the proper government offices/transfer of ownership (e.g. Business Permit and Licensing Office) (1 copy, photocopy); or
  • Certificate of cessation of business issued by the duly elected Barangay Official where the business or place of residence was located (1 copy, photocopy); or
  • SSS Form – Affidavit of Separation from Employment/Cessation of Self-employment with Undertaking
  • Certificate of separation issued by the last employer or all employers (if with multiple employers) (1 copy, photocopy); or
  • SSS Form – Affidavit of Separation from Employment/Cessation of Self-employment with Undertaking, regardless of status of employer.
  • Proof of separation from employment/cessation of business/termination of contract/no earnings

Furthermore, there are also additional SSS Retirement Benefit requirements in the case of over-the-counter filing of claims by Underground/Surface Mineworkers. Here is a guide for SSS members:

  • Certification from the employer/s that member was an underground/surface mineworker indicating the period of employment and worker’s job description (1 copy, photocopy); or
  • Affidavit of two (2) co-employees attesting that member was an underground/surface mineworker indicating the period of employment and worker’s job description

In the case of Racehorse Jockeys, you must submit a certification that you were employed as a racehorse jockey by an employer “who must be duly licensed by the Philippine Racing Commission (PHILRACOM) indicating the period of employment”.

Aside from the above-mentioned documents, there are additional SSS Retirement Claim requirements that the social insurance giant requires in special cases. It is better to check these special cases.
