REQUIREMENTS FOR SSS CALAMITY LOAN 2025 – Here is a guide on the documents required in applying for the Social Security System offer.
It is rainy season in the Philippines once again. Undeniably, there are areas that remain prone to flooding aside from the unexpected damages that the Southwest Monsoon and a typhoon can bring.

In times like this, one of the entities that a lot of people may turn to is the Social Security System or more popularly called SSS. Most of the private employees in the country are members of the social insurance giant.

The Social Security System offers several kinds of loans for its members. Aside from the SSS Pension Loan, the social insurance giant offers the SSS Calamity Loan that its members may turn to in times of natural disasters.
Recently, the SSS has streamlined the activation process of its calamity loan program. According to the social insurance giant, the calamity loan will be made available within seven (7) working days since an area is declared under a state of calamity.

To apply for the offer, there are eligibility requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application. To qualify for the loan offer, the member-borrower should meet the following qualifications:
- has at least thirty-six (36) monthly contributions, six (6) of which should be posted within the last twelve (12) months prior to the month of filing of application;
- has at least six (6) posted monthly contributions under the current coverage/membership type prior to the month of loan application for Self-Employed, Voluntary (including Non-Working Spouse), and Overseas Filipino Worker (SE/VM/OFW) members who are land based;
- has no past due SSS Short-Term Member Loans;
- a resident of the calamity declared areas and suffered damages/loss to their properties. A resident, for the purpose of CLAP, is one who has a home address or property at the calamity-stricken area;
- has not been granted any final benefit, i.e., permanent total disability or retirement;
- member-borrower must be registered in the SSS Website (My.SSS facility) to facilitate filing of online application;
- has no outstanding Loan Restructuring Program (LRP) or Calamity Loan Assistance Program (CLAP)
Aside from meeting the eligibility requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application stated above, there are also a few things that a member-borrower should comply with. Kindly ensure the following:
- update your contact information by logging in to your My.SSS account through the SSS website or mobile application or by submitting a properly filled out Member Data Change Request Form (E-4) to the nearest SSS Branch
- If you transferred to a new employment, the new employer will be automatically authorized to deduct from your salary the corresponding amortization due, including any interest or penalty for late remittance.
If you meet the eligibility requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application and wish to proceed to the application process, you may apply for the loan through your My.SSS account or through the SSS Mobile App.
Aside from the Calamity Loan and Pension Loan offers, the Social Security System also offers the Salary Loan or also known as the SSS Cash Loan.
