Who may get the SSS Funeral Benefit claim? Anyone who paid for the burial expenses of a deceased member of the Social Security System can file for the claim. Here are the considerations as per the state-run social insurance agency:
- If the deceased member is employed, his/her employer should have reported the coverage.

According to the Social Security System, the minimum amount under the SSS Funeral benefits is P20,000 but the state-run social insurance agency may extend up to P40,000 depending on certain factors such as:
- the member’s total paid contributions
- the average monthly salary credit of the member
- the funeral expenses
In filing a claim, there are requirements for SSS Funeral Benefit that the family member or the person who spent for the burial of the deceased SSS member must submit to the state-run social insurance institution.
