BARANGAY KAGAWAD SALARY – Here is a guide on the maximum rate that a barangay can give as honoraria based on its city location.

Today, October 30, is Election Day 2023 in the Philippines. Both the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections are held and millions went out to vote for the candidates they support.

In the barangay level, seven (7) Sangguniang Barangay members or also called Barangay Kagawad will be elected. Many people are surely curious as to how much is the barangay kagawad salary in the Philippines and what are the benefits they receive on the other side of fulfilling a tough job of public service.

There is actually no salary for barangay kagawad but what is given is an honoraria. Still called the barangay kagawad salary by many people, the honoraria is dependent on certain factors including the class of the city or municipality where the barangay is located.

The Department of Budget and Management has released the Local Budget Circular No. 149 which sets a ceiling or a maximum rate on the Barangay Kagawad salary in the Philippines based on the city location of the barangay.
