Guide on SSS House Repair Loan Requirements 2025 for Application
SSS HOUSE REPAIR LOAN REQUIREMENTS 2025 – Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) members of the Social Security System need to submit the following documents to apply.
Filipinos who are working abroad are undeniably real-life heroes. They took the risks to be away from their families and the challenge to be battered by loneliness just to be able to give their families a comfortable life. Meanwhile, while working for a comfortable life, many OFWs also ensured that they prepare not only for the future but as well as the inevitable circumstances.
In the Philippines, many OFWs are members of the Social Security System or more popularly called SSS. Undeniably, most of the SSS members are into a membership to the state run entity as they eye for a monthly pension when the golden years arrive.
Meanwhile, aside from the SSS Retirement Benefit, there are several loans that the social insurance giant offers. Aside from the SSS Calamity Loan offer, the state-run entity also has the SSS House Repair Loan or the Housing Loan.
The SSS House Repair Loan is designed to help the qualified members finance major and minor home repairs and improvements. You may apply for it for several purposes including the financing of the following:
- construction of concrete fence and steel gate
- installation of deep well and motor pump
- extension or expansion and enhancement of economic and aesthetic value of an existing housing unit among others.
There are some qualifications under the SSS House Repair Loan offer. For the OFW members of the social insurance giant who want to apply for the loan offer, here are the eligibility requirements for application:
- member of SSS who has at least thirty-six (36) months contributions and twenty-four (24) continuous contributions in the period prior to application
- not more than sixty (60) years old at the time of application
- not previously granted a repair and/or improvement loan by the SSS or NHMFC
- not been granted final SSS benefits
- borrower and spouse is updated in the payment of their other SSS loan(s), if any
The Social Security System has set a unique list of documents requirements for the OFW members in applying for the SSS House Repair Loan offer. Here are the documents that OFW member-borrowers should prepare and submit:
- duly-accomplished SSS Housing Loan Application Form for Direct House Repair and/or Improvement Loan (2 copies)
- SS ID Cards of the principal applicant and his/her spouse, if applicable
- Contract of Employment and Certification of Employment and Compensation duly authenticated by the Philippine Consulate or SSS Foreign Representative
The requirements for application include the collateral documents. Make sure to prepare and submit the following:
- Building or Renovation Permit issued/approved by the Building Official with Locational Clearance, Electrical Permit, Sanitary/Plumbing Permit and corresponding official receipts of payments (original and one (1) photocopy
- Certified true copy of the Original/Transfer/Condominium Certificate of Title (OCT/TCT/CCT) issued by the Registry of Deeds together with owner’s duplicate copy*
- latest Tax Declaration of Real Property (land and building) with the Official Receipt of Realty Tax Payment (original and one (1) photocopy)
- Lot/Location Plan prepared, signed & sealed by a licensed geodetic engineer with the following:
- sketch of the lot with description of its boundaries
- lengths and bearings of the tie line and sides of the lot
- vicinity map w/ landmarks, street pattern, street names and lot distance as reckoned/based from the lot to the nearest street intersection (2 copies)
- Consolidation-subdivision plan approved by the Land Registration Authority or Bureau of Lands/DENR-NCR (15” x 20” size; primary document) (1 copy)
- complete set of building plan
- specifications and Bill of Materials & Labor must be signed & sealed by a licensed civil engineer or architect with owner’s conformity
- scope of Works showing list/itemized works to be done according to priority, prepared and signed by owner, civil engineer or architect. (original and one (1) photocopy)
- pictures of existing collateral; the existing house and lot
- 1st – Front and one side
- 2nd – Rear and other side
- 3rd – Kitchen counter
- 4th – Toilet and Bath Pictures
In the case of repairing or improving a condominium unit, you need to include the following in your list of SSS House Repair Loan requirements for application:
- Floor plan of the specific condominium unit, scaled with size dimensions (20” x 30” size, blue/whiteprint copy) signed & sealed by licensed architect or civil engineer
- First page of the condominium building plans showing the site development plan, vicinity map, etc., as approved by the Building Official
- Architectural Plans showing the plan of the specific floor where the unit is located; Floor plan should be scaled with size dimensions
