Proposal on NCR Businesses Operation Targets Vaccine Compliance

NCR BUSINESSES – There is a proposal that business establishments will only allow fully vaccinated individuals against COVID-19.

Countries across the globe now are administering vaccines to their people. Nations are in the pursuit of achieving population protection against COVID-19 which has shaken healthcare systems – even collapsed China’s.

In the Philippines, the target of the national government for population protection is to vaccinate at least 70 million people. Different vaccine brands were procured by PH while some were donated by other countries and groups. Among these brands that arrived in the country include Moderna, Sputnik V, Sinovac, Sinopharm, Pfizer, Janssen, and AstraZeneca.

The Metro Manila is under the strictest level of community quarantine measure, the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), for exactly two (2) weeks now. The provinces of Laguna and Bataan are also under the same community quarantine measure.

Starting tomorrow, August 21, Metro Manila and Laguna will be under Modified ECQ, the second strictest community quarantine measure among the four (4) levels. Batan will be under MECQ starting August 23.

Amid the strict community quarantine measures, the vaccination continues. The individuals who have scheduled vaccination are allowed to go out from their houses.

Recently, a proposal regarding the operation of the NCR businesses crossed the surface. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion is proposing for business establishments in the capital region to allow only fully vaccinated individuals when the 50% population protection is reached.

According to Concepcion, their proposal is the system they believe can take PH through without the impositions of lockdown anymore. He further expressed that only the fully vaccinated will be allowed to go out so when they get sick, hospitals won’t reach their full capacity.

Amid the MECQ in Metro Manila and several other provinces, dine-in services and al fresco eating are still not allowed. Personal care establishments like nail spas, barbershops, and beauty salons are also not allowed to operate.

Concepcion expressed that they have submitted the proposal regarding the NCR businesses operation to the COVID-19 task force of the country. More updates may be posted soon.
