Update on Another Oil Price Hike – the Amount of Increase in Fuel Prices
OIL PRICE HIKE – The authorities in the oil industry announced that another increase in oil prices is set for Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
Since January, there were several instances of oil price increases that led to a financial challenge on the part of the motorists and private and public vehicle owners and drivers. The series of increases led the prices of diesel and gasoline to surpass P90 per liter in several fuel stations.
Transport groups are calling for a minimum fare increase amid the high prices of fuel. According to some drivers of public utility vehicles (PUVs), they can hardly provide for the needs in their household from their work alone because of the high prices of fuel. Many of them borrow money and got loaded debt.
Several groups are also calling for the suspension of the fuel excise tax to ease the impacts of the oil price hike series in the country.
However, according to Malacañang, the budget has already been allotted for government projects. The government previously released fuel subsidies but several drivers complained they have yet to receive their subsidies.
Recently, oil companies gave heads up on another oil price hike set on Tuesday, June 28. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the upcoming increase in oil prices is the 5th week that fuel prices continuously take an upward trend.
Different gasoline stations have different price increases. Based on the report, here are details on the oil price hike to be implemented by several fuel stations tomorrow, Tuesday, June 28:
