REQUIREMENTS FOR SSS CALAMITY LOAN – Here are the qualifications and the documents required by the Social Security System in applying for the loan offer.

Calamity Loans are among the most beneficial loan offers an entity may have. It aims to help people who are living a challenging reality after a natural disaster has left their place in devastation. In the Philippines, one of the calamity loan providers is the Social Security System.

Requirements for SSS Calamity Loan

More popularly called SSS, the Social Security System is one of the biggest social insurance institutions in the country and it has millions of members. The SSS membership is mandated among the employees of the private sector.

Furthermore, the SSS also opened its membership for the self-employed individuals as well as overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). It is also open for voluntary members of the social insurance giant.

The SSS has several loan offers and one of tgem is the SSS Calamity Loan. It is offered under the Calamity Loan Assistance Program or CLAP, one (1) of the two (2) programs of the state entity under the Calamity Assistance Program (CAP).

Here are the eligibility requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application:

  • residing in an area declared under a State of Calamity by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC)
  • registered on the My.SSS portal
  • has posted at least 36 monthly contributions
  • has not availed of final benefits
  • has no outstanding balance in CLAP or the SSS Loan Restructuring Program (LRP)

With regards to the loanable amounts under the loan offer, it is equivalent to one monthly salary credit (MSC). With regards to the documentary requirements for the SSS Calamity Loan application, it is dependent on who will file the loan application.

In case the SSS member will personally file the loan application, here are the documents that must be submitted to the state-run social insurance giant:

  • One (1) copy of the SSS calamity loan assistance application form
  • Original copy of barangay certification
  • Original copy of valid ID

In case the loan application will be filed by an authorized representative of the SSS member-borrower, here are the requirements that must be submitted for the application:

  • One (1) copy of the SSS calamity loan assistance application form
  • Original copy of authorization letter
  • Original copy of barangay certificate
  • Printed scanned copies of valid ID/documents of the OFW or seafarer member
  • Original copy of valid ID or document of the authorized representative
