Lendpinoy Reveals Details of Loan Offer for Filipino Commuters

LENDPINOY – Loan provider Lendpinoy revealed that it will offer “pamasahe” or fare loans to the commuters this “petsa de peligro”.

Truths be told that a lot of Filipinos are struggling on how to make ends meet. The financial problems of many household were even more triggered by the COVID-19 crisis in the Philippines now. Many workers lost their jobs and source of income amid the crisis.

Several businesses closed amid the crisis as they cannot withstand months or even just weeks of having no operation. They closed as the pandemic may be a long-term battle and they’re only incurring expenses.

In the case of some people, they can hardly make ends meet. Their salary that can hardly meet the expenses are divided among the fees on food, daily transportation, utility bills, tuition of the children, etc.

Unfortunately, after some bills were paid, a Filipino employee is usually left with very little money or none at all for their day-to-day expenses which includes the fare. The period between paydays or called as the “petsa de peligro” is really tough.

To help the Filipino workers, digital micro-loan provider Lendpinoy will offer a “pamasahe” loan for the commuters during the so-called “petsa de peligro”. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the said offer is under the Ride Now, Pay Later program of the loan provider.

Speaking to ANC, Lendpinoy Chief Operating Officer Nouell Kristi Bautista expressed that commuters may loan Php 500.00 for P2P buses, modern jeepneys, MRT-3, LRT-1, and LRT-2 payments. She stressed that their target market is the working class and they felt the need to address the problem of the people during the periods between paydays.

The said loan offer will be open for Filipino beep card, store value card, users. The move can benefit around seven (7) million users of beep cards and the loans will be available beginning June. Beep card users just have to download the app. The loans can be repaid in 14, 21, or 30 days.
