Schools in the Philippines continued in delivering classes to the students even amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The institutions found ways on how to keep pushing. Instead of face-to-face classes, blended learning was adapted. Students get their lessons through online classes and modules.

Jobstreet cited that amid the situation now, there are these in-demand jobs for the freshmen. This can help students who are planning what course to take although things may change yearly.

In-Demand Jobs for Fresh Graduates

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the in-demand jobs for fresh graduates in the Philippines for year 2021 include the following:

  • Education – 21%
  • Business Process Outsourcing / Customer Service – 14%
  • General Work – 7%
  • Healthcare – 7%
  • Security / Armed Forces – 5%
  • General / Cost Accounting – 3%
  • Sales – 2%
  • Banking and Finance – 2%
  • Agriculture – 2%

According to JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca, they observed that part of the requirements of 29% of the total job vacancies is less than a year of experience. Thus, they recommend submitting resumes and application forms to as many companies as possible for a bigger chance of getting a job.

With regards to the location, the area with the biggest number of job vacancies is the National Capital Region (NCR) at 34%. It is followed by Calabarzon and Mimaropa, Central Luzon, Western Visayas, and Central Visayas in the list. Many companies also offer a work-from-home set-up due to the situation now.

Remote jobs that are open for application includes virtual assistants, customer service representatives, and online teaching. Most of these accept applicants even those with less than a year of experience.
