The increasing prices of goods and basic necessities in the Philippines are making it harder for a lot of people to put food on the table. Truth be told that the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic which is ongoing for more than two years now have placed several households in financial struggle.

Many Filipinos in the country are receiving low salaries and they can hardly make ends meet for food, transportation, and utility bills expenses. There are also school expenses for those who have kids and the possibility of unexpected expenses like medical emergencies.

Thus, employees are calling for a salary hike. The minimum wage is different per region depending on several factors and the approval of the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTPWB).
